As Managing Partner since the firm’s inception in 2004 Alan leads the firm’s overall direction and strategy with the assistance of his partners. He has travelled to China on a number of occasions to establish and promote the firm’s association with Zhonglun W&D Law Firm.
He studied at the LSE and trained with a City firm. He was the Head of the landlord and tenant litigation department at his previous firm and also heads the Property Disputes department at DKLM.
He brings over 25 years’ experience in dealing with all kinds of property disputes and offering clients both practical and tactical advice to landlords and tenants, including possession cases, lease renewals, dilapidation claims, trespass and nuisance actions, forfeiture claims and claims against original tenants and guarantors.
Alan writes articles on specialist topics and presents seminars on landlord and tenant and property related matters to clients and other property professionals. He is a member of the Property Litigation Association and the Law Management Section of the Law Society.
He enjoys cycling and walking in the countryside. He supports Hull City and Arsenal which can cause him to have a conflict of interest!
